Announcements
Good morning skiers and riders. Locals and visitors unanimously report that this week’s skiing and riding is out of this world. You’ll see goggle tans aplenty as everyone in town is out in the sun, catching rays and making one fantastic run after another on 1177 acres of accessible terrain. With 70 trails of “Colorado’s Best Corduroy,” totaling 460 acres of expertly groomed terrain, and an additional 36 trails of natural conditions, skiers and riders of all levels will find just what they’re looking for today…terrain features in the DC Terrain Parks, gentle beginner terrain, intermediate cruisers, bumps, steeps, glades and powders stashes…we’ve got something for everyone from the Peak to Teocalli Bowl.

Temperatures today will range between 27 and 54 degrees, and we’ll have partly sunny skies. Now is the time to remember your sunblock…after picking up your favorite coffee beverage from Camp 4 Coffee, stop by Back to Basics at the Outpost of Mountaineer Square, or the General Store in the Treasury Center to get all the important necessities, including sunblock, chapstick and shades. Drink plenty of water and enjoy taking an extended lunch on the decks of our base area restaurants, Butte 66 on the top floor of the Treasury Center or the Atmosphere Restaurant at the Elevation Hotel. On the mountain, Paradise Warming House and the Ice Bar will always have a seat available for you. Saddle up with your compadres for lunch and tasty beverages and let your fellow skiers and riders provide your entertainment as they coast down Ruby Chief and Roller Coaster.

Just a quick reminder- from March 24 through the last day of the season, April 13th, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is offering the best deal for passholders- half price lift tickets! Present your pass from any other ski resort at the Crested Butte ticket office and get ½ price lift tickets- as low as $19.50! For more information on lift tickets, call the Adventure Center at Mountaineer Square at 970-349-2262. Passholders can also receive 10-15% off lodging booked through Crested Butte Vacations. For lodging and lift ticket packages, call 1-800-810-7669.

Looking for just one more reason to make your way to Crested Butte this upcoming spring weekend? How about the last two events of the Profurious Park and Pipe Series at Crested Butte Mountain Resort? You heard me right. This weekend, is the annual Slush Huck event and it is most certainly not one you will want to miss. On Saturday, March 29th, the DC Terrain Park kids will put on the Superpipe and infamous Pondskimming Competitions; and on Sunday, they will feature the Slopestyle Competitions. Skiers and snowboarders are welcome to compete, the first 100 competitors will receive a commemorative jersey, and Slush Huck entry fee is $45 for one event and $70 for two. The cost for Pond Skimming is $20 and free with the two event entry fee.

Immediately following the Slush Huck, around 4 pm on Saturday, Crested Butte Mountain Resort will feature the Desciples in a free outdoor concert. The Desciples are an up and coming Reggae band out of Denver and will perform live at the base area in front of the Atmosphere deck.

As usual, it’s going to be an entertaining weekend at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Check out www.skicb.com for information on lodging, lift tickets and the many reasons you should visit Crested Butte before the end of the ski season.
This is Colorado’s very own Snow Betty signing off…have a great day folks and I’ll see you on the hill.
