Announcements
Good morning all you skiers and riders out there! It's a beautiful Friday morning here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort and this weekend is shaping up to be a great one! We are reporting no new snowfall in the last 24 hours, and today's weather will be mostly sunny with highs reaching the mid forties! Winds are calm and blowing out of the east at about five mph and you can expect spring like conditions on the Mountain today!

We currently have an 84 inch base and a total of 1177 acres open! Thanks to our hard working grooming teams, 480 glorious acres of our total open terrain have been meticulously groomed for your skiing and riding pleasure! So come on up and enjoy "Colorado's Best Corduroy!" And for all you folks that feel like catching a bit of air today, our groomer's choice is the 400 foot long, 17 foot deep DC Superpipe!

In other fun news, this weekend is the annual Slush Huck event and it is one of those events you won't want to miss. On Saturday, March 29th, the DC Terrain Park kids will put on the Superpipe and infamous Pondskimming Competitions; and on Sunday, they will feature the Slopestyle Competitions. Skiers and snowboarders are welcome to compete. The first 100 competitors will receive a commemorative jersey, and Slush Huck entry fee is $45 for one event and $70 for two. The cost for Pond Skimming is $20 and free with the two event entry fee. Immediately following the Slush Huck, at 4 pm on Saturday, Crested Butte Mountain Resort will feature the Desciples in a free outdoor concert. The Desciples are an up and coming Reggae band out of Denver and will perform live at the base area in front of the Atmosphere deck.

Always wanted to improve your skills on the slopes? Well, regardless of your level of skiing, it can’t hurt to get some great advice from the experts. Take advantage of the fantastically staffed Crested Butte Mountain School where there are pros who can teach just about anything from steep groomers to fast-paced moguls- they can even teach you how to huck off jumps and bumps!

After a fun filled day of shredding it up on the hill, don't miss out on a truly unique experience by taking a run down to the Ice Bar and Restaurant! Always attracting a crowd, this is the place to see and be seen! The Ice Bar and Restaurant serves gourmet lunches of upscale regional American Cuisine with French undertones and exotic drinks at a bar made completely out of ice! Sip on a specialty beverage at the end of the day on the large sunny deck, and enjoy the beautiful vistas while people watching! It is conveniently located on the Mountain at the base of the Twister Lift and is open for lunch and evening Last Tracks Dinners. Reservations are required for Last Tracks dinners and recommended for lunch.

With great weather and fantastic snow conditions Crested Butte Mountain Resort is the place to be this weekend! Have a great day and we'll see you on the slopes!
