Good morning snow hounds and ski bunnies! Just a week after the Easter holiday and Crested Butte Mountain Resort is still hopping! We’ve had 6 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours and 8 inches in the last 48 hours. If you’re looking for smooth skiing and riding, you’ll want to pull yourself out of bed this morning and head to the hill. You’ll have a base of 87” under foot with powder and packed powder terrain conditions…you couldn’t ask for a better place to be skiing or riding during the last weekend of March!

With only two weeks left in the 2007-2008 ski season, Crested Butte Mountain Resort continues to experience a record year in snowfall. We’ve had a total of 379 inches of natural snow fall on us this season- that’s 31.5 feet! The conditions have been superb all season…and it looks like the next two weeks will be nothing short of record breaking. It looks like we will have at least one more week of cutting school and calling in to work. There is a winter storm watch in effect until Monday afternoon, and chances of snow throughout today range between 50 and 90%. Sounds like a sure thing to me! Snow is expected all day on Monday, with a little clearing and higher temps on Tuesday…but we’ll be seeing more snowfall later on in the week beginning on Thursday. These are the reasons local skiers and riders call this place paradise. Come get a slice of yours before the season is over- so don’t hold out any longer!

You won’t be able to deny the following end of the season offer. From March 24 through the last day of the season, April 13th, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is offering the best deal for passholders- half price lift tickets! Present your pass from any other ski resort at the Crested Butte ticket office and get ½ price lift tickets- as low as $19.50! For more information on lift tickets, call the Adventure Center at Mountaineer Square at 970-349-2262. Passholders can also receive 10-15% off lodging booked through Crested Butte Vacations. For lodging and lift ticket packages, call 1-800-810-7669.

We Snow Betties like to keep you informed of the latest and greatest events at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, and this weekend is no exception. The last event of the Profurious Park & Pipe Series is today. The Slopestyle Competition highlights the best up and coming skiers and riders of all ages, as well as the innovative features of Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s DC Terrain Park. The schedule for today goes like this. Registration for the Slopestyle Competition will be held in the Capital Room of the Elevation Hotel from 8-9: 30 am. Practice in the DC Terrain Park will follow, from 9:45-10:45; at 10:45 sharp, there will be a mandatory competitor meeting at the top of the DC Terrain Park. Around 11 am, the competition will get under way and big and little groms alike will be demonstrating this season’s new moves; they are sure to explode the DC Terrain Park this year so if you can get out and watch the competition, you won’t be sorry. After the competition ends, there will be an awards ceremony for the Slopestyle Competition and for the overall Profurious Park & Pipe Series.

What a season! You’ve got two weeks to make your way to the Butte and get a taste of the best season we’ve seen in years. This is Colorado’s very own Snow Betty signing off- I’ll see you on the hill!
