After the 4 inches of fluffy, white snow Crested Butte received in the past 24 hours, 12 inches in the past 48 hours and a total of 20 inches in the past 7 days, it is a shame for me to have to report that both the Silver Queen Lift and Red Lady Express will be delayed in opening today due to undisclosed reasons. Stay tuned for more details... APRIL FOOLS! On this deliciously funny Tuesday, the 1st of April 2008, I am thrilled to report that this thrilling mountain will be open today starting at 9:00 am sharp, including 15 scenic chair lifts, giving you access to 106 diverse trails that are dispersed throughout 1177 ski able acres. Although the powder will be plentiful today, there will still 480 acres groomed to your perfection thanks to the hard working groomers, who have been working diligently making Colorado's best corduroy on all the green and blue runs. Not only will the skiing be epic yet again today on the 91 inch base, but the weather will be nothing but stellar as well. You can expect to see sunny skies with temperatures reaching the mid 40's today. The rest of the week looks very similar with a 30% chance of snow mix for tomorrow. Better make sure you're rightfully prepared for these unbelievable weather conditions on top of skiing and riding in powder! The base area shops have everything you need from sunscreen and the latest and greatest in sunglasses, to lighter ski and snowboard jackets to keep your body at the perfect comfort level. check out the great spring deals going on throughout the base area.
