It is the 2nd day of April 2008, and what a better way to ring in spring skiing then with 20 inches of snow that has landed on Crested Butte Mountain Resort in the past week. Although I cannot report any new snow in the past 24 hours, there is a 30% chance of snow throughout today and tomorrow where temperatures will reach the upper 40’s. If you think the weather looks great, just wait until you get out and ski or ride on the unbelievable 91 inch base that covers 1177 ski able terrain, where powder turns will be plentiful today. Now is your time to test your limits on the extreme terrain, where your falls, if any, will be soft and cushy from the amazing snow that lies on the mountain. If it’s groomers you’re after, you’re in luck because Crested Butte continues to hold the title for Colorado’s best corduroy. Every green and blue run is groomed nightly by the hardworking groomers who recommend Jockerville as their groomer’s choice today. Take your pick from one of the 106 trails that are open today, which can be accessed from the 15 chair lifts that will be spinning. No matter where you decide to make your turns, you can’t go wrong today. Already thinking about Holiday cards for next year? Why not start early? Take advantage of the on mountain photographers who will not only make your trip at Crested Butte Mountain Resort last a lifetime but help your whole life easier come next December.
