Good morning! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Thursday, December 11, 2008.Although we've had no new snow in the last two days, our snowmaking, grooming and Ski Patrol teams have worked diligently to open more terrain for you today. That's right- today we'll be opening Upper Keystone and Upper Park from Ruby Road down- both trails accessible by the Paradise Lift. If all goes as planned, we'll be opening the Silver Queen Lift tomorrow, just in time for the busy weekend.

Currently, it's a little chilly out there- 16 degrees, but we have clear skies and mild wind, making it a great time to get out and enjoy Colorado's Best Corduroy. Snow is in the forecast for the the next three days, so the weekend is really shaping up. It's only a few weeks into the 2008-2009 ski season, but we already have a total of 188 acres for you to enjoy, including 144 groomed acres. Now is the time to make plans for the weekend- and those plans should most definitely include Crested Butte Mountain Resort.

As you make your plans for the rest of the work week, be sure to stop by Alpenglow Gallery at Mountaineer Square this evening at 6pm for the opening of their latest exhibit- The Absence of Color. Rebecca Weil, Director of the Alpenglow Gallery, has been working tirelessly to solicit and judge submissions, and will be featuring many local artists in several different mediums. Get out and rub some artists' elbows at the Alpenglow Gallery tonight.

Another featured event of the weekend will be the showing of Ellis Smith's latest creation, Wish List. Smith is the force behind Shralptown and Return to Schralptown, and Wish List will be playing at the Center for the Arts on Friday night.

Lastly, this Saturday, join Heather Paul and the women of Ultimate Groove for their co-ed, early season camp. Ultimate Groove will be focusing on starting the new season without bad habits and offering tips to keep you improving all season long. Visit www.ultimategrooves.com for details.

A couple of early season reminders, we've got two great deals going on right now, that will both end on December 17th. This early season when you book your lodging with Crested Butte vacations you'll also receive FREE skiing. That's right free... as in no cost to you for some of the best skiing on the planet. Use this as an opportunity to shake off the summer cobwebs and experience truly uncrowded skiing and riding at its finest. Stay and ski free packages start at just $63 per person per night. Be sure not to miss one of the best deals in all of ski country. This package is only available through Crested Butte Vacations. Call 1-800-810-7669 to book your reservations.

Also, through December 17th, all pass holders (any kind, from any other ski resort) can experience the legendary skiing and riding of Crested Butte for half price. Adult lift tickets start at just $29.50 and kids' lift tickets start at only $15.00. You would be silly not to take advantage of the best deal in Colorado. Crested Butte pass and card holders can also take advantage of this great deal. Use half price lift tickets to get in some early skiing without using days on your pass. As a bonus we'll extend the half price offer to your pass-less buddies so you have someone to keep you company on the hill. That's right, you can bring along one friend per day at the same great low rate.

That was quite a report! There's so much going on here at Crested Butte as we move into the middle of the month. Go ahead, make your plans now, and we promise you won't be sorry. Have a great day out there, and I'll see you on the hill.
