There's so much to see and experience here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort this weekend! The DC Southwest Series is happening today! Snowboarders will be hitting the slopes to compete in slalom and grand slalom. This new series is open to all amateur riders, both men and women! The top riders from the series will qualify to compete in the USASA National Championships! Good Luck Girls and Guys! Also, have you had a chance to witness any of the amazing ice carving demonstrations brought to you by the World Champion ice carvers of the famous Rock on Ice crew? Well, it's a must see for you and the whole family! These masters-of-the-chainsaw will be out today showing you their amazing talents from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Then at 5:00 they will host an autograph session on the deck of the brand new 9380 Prime, located slopeside at the Elevation Hotel. Then stick around for the grand finale which features a spectacular ice carving show set to rock n' roll music and a light show! Our very own, local favorite, DJ Lunch Lady Laura will be setting rock tunes to the mastery of this spectacular show! All events are free and kid friendly, so don't miss out on all the fun!

Happy Saturday all you skiers and riders out there! This is your Crested Butte Mountain Resort snow report for December 20th. What a beautiful weekend it is shaping up to be! I'm happy to report that our incredible snowmaking, grooming, and patrol teams have opened a few more lifts for us today! Goldlink and Teocalli will be up and running, giving you access to some of your favorite runs like Cascade, Elko Park, and Upper Red Lady, just to name a few! Also, the always fun, Tubing Hill opens today for the season and will be open every day from 2:00pm to 5:00pm! Well, it's another POWDER morning here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort! We received another 4 inches of snow in the last 24 hours, 13 inches in the last 48 hours, and a whopping 46 inches in the last 7 days! This gives us a season total of 80 inches and leaves us with a natural snow depth of 37 inches! Currently 9 lifts are running giving you access to 472 acres of the best skiing on the planet! Today you will have your choice of 64 trails and the conditions on the Mountain will be Powder! You can expect more snow to fall today with clouds starting to break just a little bit tomorrow. However, more snow is in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday, so get ready all you powder skiers and riders, because we could be in for a great start to the week!
