Good morning and happy bluebird day! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Sunday, January 18, 2009. We are in the middle of a gorgeous weekend here in Crested Butte. Sunny and clear bluebird skies, warmer temps and fantastic skiing and riding. We've had no new snow in the last 48 hours, and 6 inches in the last seven days. With 94 trails to choose from and a total of 1152 accessible acres, skiers and riders are finding it easy to explore the entire mountain that we call The Butte. All of our 16 lifts are currently running; the Teocalli and Twister lifts will also be open on Monday as part of the holiday weekend.

Cruise the groomer's choice today, Upper Keystone, which is just one of our 67 groomed trails that cover 481 acres of the mountain. Or hook up with a Crested Butte Adventure Guide who can take you on an adventure on the North Face or to explore some of the hidden powder stashes on the lower mountain. With these certified Adventure Guides, guests will be supplied for the day with a backpack and other necessities needed for hiking and exploring the mountain. Transceiver, Probes and Shovels are also available if guests are interested in learning more about backcountry equipment and how to use this equipment.

To get ready for your day on the hill, you're going to need a good, hearty breakfast. I suggest the Woodstone Grill in the Grand Lodge at the base area. The Woodstone Grill has spectacular menu items and a substantial breakfast buffet. Hit all your food groups before hitting the slopes and enjoy great service and an easy walk from breakfast to the base area lifts. The Woodstone Grill can accomodate large dining parties as well, so bring the kids along and meet your best family friends for a memorable Sunday brunch.

Are you interested in the latest ski and riding gear? Want to try out a top of the line ski or snowboard? We've got great gear for you to try out at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. The newly renovated rental shop in the Treasury Center has over 100 sets and 18 different models of this years' hottest demo skis and snowboards! They also carry women's specific skis and boards as well as park and pipe skis for more advanced skiers ages 10 to 14! Stop by and check out all the cool gear they have to offer this season!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort and it looks like we'll have more of the same throughout the entire week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I'll see you on the hill.
