Well folks, it's another beautiful powder day here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Not only did 8 inches of fresh snow fall in the past 24 hours (2 of which fell overnight), 17 inches in the past 48 hours and a whopping 39 inches in the past 7 days; but on this Tuesday, the 27th of January, I am thrilled to report that we have exceeded the 200 inch mark! That's right, our season snowfall so far this year is a stunning 202 inches! Thanks to all the snow from Mother Nature, 100% of the main mountain is open, including 100% of beginner, intermediate, and advanced terrain, in addition to 93% of the Extreme terrain that is open. On the powder-packed 68 inch base, 1191 skiable acres are open; don't worry you corduroy lovers out there, there are still 481 groomed acres open, equaling 75 groomed runs. 15 chair lifts are running today, leading you to 102 diverse and exciting trails. Keep in mind, Teocalli Lift will be closed Monday-Friday, but will reopen on the weekend. Powder hounds and cruisers, there is plenty of everything to keep the whole crew as happy as clams today. Even after the epic snowfall that came down in the past 5 days, there is still a 30% chance of snow through Thursday. Temperatures will be in the lower teens today, but will warm up to the lower 20's by tomorrow. Both the temperature and the weather couldn't be better for this last Tuesday in January.
