Good morning everyone! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Sunday, February 1, 2009. We are in the middle of a gorgeous weekend here in Crested Butte. Sunny and clear bluebird skies, warmer temps and fantastic skiing and riding. We've had no new snow in the last 72 hours, but 21 inches in just the last week! With 102 trails to choose from and a total of 1192 accessible acres, skiers and riders are finding it easy to explore the entire mountain that we call The Butte. All of our 16 lifts are currently running so before you hit the couch and appetizers for Superbowl Sunday, come up and make a few turns at your favorite mountain! Cruise the groomer's choice today, Crystal, which is just one of our 70 groomed trails that cover 481 acres of the mountain. Our base is a sturdy 58 inches at mid-mountain and 93% of extreme terrain is waiting for you to challenge yourself. Snow showers are possible today, with a 30% chance of snow in the forecast. The work week looks like we'll see bluebird, sunny skies, at least through Wednesday; don't forget to bring your sunglasses while you work the deck at Butte 66, Paradise Warming House or the Ice Bar.
