Good morning everybody! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Tuesday, February 3, 2009. We've got great news for today- the Third Bowl, part of our infamous Extreme Terrain, will be opening this morning at 9 am. Be sure to thank your local Ski Patrollers when you see them...thanks to them, the Third Bowl is yours! We have a great 58 inch base right now, with powder and packed powder conditions. Today we'll have 15 lifts up and running, giving you access to almost 1200 acres of killer terrain. If you're looking for Colorado's Best Corduroy, we've got that too. In fact, we have 75 groomed trails spread over 481 acres on the mountain, so feel free to cruise away. Groomer's Choice today is one of my favorite single black runs, Jokerville. It's currently 20 degrees and fairly windy, with gusts coming out of the North at 16 mph; be sure to keep your face protected from the wind, but certainly don't let it keep you inside! We're going to have clear, sunny skies today with temperatures reaching the low 30s...perfect February skiing and riding conditions if you ask me.
