Good morning! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on this fine Tuesday, February 10, 2009. You'll like the stats again this morning, because we've received another 6 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours, 3 in the last 12 hours, bringing this year's snow total to 215 inches. In the past 48 hours, we've had 9 inches of snow and I am glad to say that it is cloudy and snowing as I write this report at 5 am. Our base is skiing and riding very nice right now at 58 inches at the top and 45 at midway. We've got 15 out of 16 lifts up and running and a grand spanking total of 1250 acres open, 481 of which is groomed. Take your pick of 104 trails- you'll find powder and packed powder conditions throughout the accessible terrain and practically perfect conditions everywhere you turn. The Superpipe is open and freshly cut and our other terrain parks are looking fresh and ready for all you rippers out there. It's shaping up to be a great second week of February in the Butte. The current temperature is 21 degrees and there is a slight wind out of the West. I am very pleased to announce that there is a high chance of snow every day this week, so after you shovel out the car and the sidewalk, come get your powder at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Looking for great activities for the kiddos? We've got them! Send the kids flying down the tubing hill between the Silver Queen and Red Lady lifts in the afternoons...stop by the Adventure Center in Mountaineer Square to find out more and to purchase your tubing tickets. There's also plenty of fun for the kids happening at Camp CB! Camp CB is not only the place to learn how to ski and snowboard, it's the place where kids rule! Kids get their own trail map, and their own secret trails. Kids are also perfectly sized for the Kids Terrain Park at Painter Boy. Have your kids join our fun-loving instructors for an exciting Kids' Night Out where they can enjoy activities like tubing, movies, pizza dinner, and other fun indoor and outdoor activities. Children ages 4-12 are welcome and the cost per child is $85. Kids' Night Out takes place every week, Thursday through Saturday and can be booked by calling 970 349 2259.
