Announcements
Good morning Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Today is Thursday, February 19th, and I am happy to report that the mountain has received one inch of fresh snow in the past 24 hours, 10 inches in the past 48 hours and almost 2 feet in the past week! This makes the grand total of snowfall so far this year a whopping 241 inches! The powder-packed 62 inch base is skiing and riding wonderfully today and is ready to be taken advantage of!

100% of this spectacular mountain is open today, including 1250 acres, 481 of which have been groomed with Colorado's best corduroy. The 15 lifts open can take you to 104 exciting and diverse trails that are sure to make you smile with every turn you make. There are still plenty of powder stashes to be found no matter where you go, but if it's groomers you're after, the groomers have worked diligently throughout the night, grooming 62 of those amazing trails and recommend Paradise Bowl as their groomer's choice. Powder shots or cruisers, there's something out there for everyone!

There is a 30% chance of snow for today and tomorrow with temperatures reaching the mid 20's. The skies should clear up by Saturday and Colorado's infamous sun is expected to shine through the partly cloudy skies where temperatures will rise to the upper 20's. It's going to be a perfect weekend of skiing, riding and spectating one of the most extreme ski competitions in the country. That's right, the 18th U.S. Freeskiing Extreme Competition has arrived! With registration continuing today in the Elevation Hotel, followed by the Master and Junior Finals, the games have just begun. The Freeskiing World Tour athletes will begin their qualifying run today and the competition continues through Saturday. The venues have not been announced yet, but as you make your way around the mountain, check the message boards at the bottom of the lifts. The conditions are great for this year's competition and the weather will be nothing short of perfect so come out and see what the Extremes are all about at the place that started them all, Crested Butte Mountain Resort.
