Announcements
This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the dump report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Fat Tuesday, February 24, 2009. We are literally swimming in snow, folks. In the last 24 hours, we've received 13 inches of new snow. That's over a foot of snow in just the last day! Our 12 hour snow total is 5 inches, so, yeah, there's still plenty of powder for you to ski and ride today. This current snow front has brought our season snowfall total to 254 inches, and we have major powder conditions up on the hill. With a thick, 70 inch base at the top, you better believe that there is no better skiing or riding anywhere else in the country.

All of our 16 lifts are up and running, shuttling skiers and riders up to a total of 1250 accessible acres, 480 of which are groomed by our killer grooming team. We have 104 trails for you to choose from, 67 of which are groomed. They have chosen today's Groomer's Choice as Jokerville, so be sure to visit the front side, single black diamond trail for a stellar, groomed run. Currently, it is 31 degrees and lightly snowing. We should definitely plan on seeing these snow conditions stick around for the remainder of the work week; there is at least a 30% chance of snow today through Friday, with the sky opening up again for the last weekend of February.

If skiing and riding in powder conditions is new to you and your family, don't get frustrated...get help! The Crested Butte Ski and Ride School is the answer to your powder problems. Our instructors are experts, and can help you learn to ski and ride our mountain, even with 13 inches of fresh powder. Whether you are learning to ski for the first time or are interested in taking it to the next level with one of our Extremes with Ease Workshops, now is the time to invest in your skiing and riding skills. My advice to you, call toll free, 1-800-444-9236 to book some time with a local expert who will boost your ability to ski and ride in our fantastic powder.

While you're at the base area today, be sure to stop by the CBMR retail stores for the best sales of the season. In the Treasury Center, the Crested Butte Ski and Snowboard shop is offering 50% off Sierra Designs Kids Wear and 20% off Fly Low and UnderArmour. At Thin Air Sports in the Moutaineer Square courtyard, we have deep discounts of 40% off Westcomb, 30% off Outdoor Research and 20% off Mammut. If you've been thinking about a new, stylish outer coat, more functional snow pants or stocking up on warm and toasty ski socks, hit the CBMR retail stores to get your fix.

Well, I was out yesterday and found great skiing and riding conditions all over the mountain. It's a powder day in Crested Butte...get out of bed and hit the slopes! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty signing off...I'll see you on the hill!
