Good morning everyone! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Thursday, February 26, 2009. We continue to enjoy the results of this week's snow storm. In the past seven days, we've received 13 inches of new snow. While the past couple of days have brought those fantastic sunny and clear blue Colorado skies, there is a 30% chance you might see snow showers throughout today and tomorrow. This weekend, we can expect partly sunny skies and temperatures remaining in the high 30s. We're skiing and riding a base of 70 inches at the top and 51 at midway. We have 15 of our 16 lifts transporting skiers and riders to a grand total of 1250 acres of open terrain, including 481 groomed acres. That means you get your pick of a total of 104 trails. If groomers are your style, we have 67 groomed trails today, with the Groomer's Choice as Paradise Bowl. Great news for all you rippers out there- the Superpipe is freshly cut and will reopen today. Be sure to practice safe skiing and riding out there everybody. The Snow Betties wanted to remind you that this Saturday, February 28 is the Venetian Carnevale, an elegant fundraiser for the Center for the Arts.
