Good morning snow bunnies and powder hounds. This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Monday, March 9, 2009. The five inches of snow we've received in the last 48 hours was a great addition to our current natural snow base of 65 inches at the top and 56 inches at midway. 100% of the mountain is open, including 15 lifts leading to 104 trails, 72 of which the groomers have groomed to perfection. From "Colorado's Best Corduroy" to the best bumps and steeps in the business, Crested Butte Mountain Resort knows how to make your ski day complete!

Temperatures are expected to be in 30s today and there is a 30% chance of snow. Snow showers are expected to move back in tomorrow and we will see Colorado Bluebird Skies once again on Wednesday. As my fellow Snow Betty says, this week is shaping up to be nothing short of springtastic!

Already planning your weekend? Join us this Sunday, March 15 from 02:00 to 05:00 P.M. in The Grand Ballroom at the Lodge at Mountaineer Square for 7th annual Gunnison Crested Butte Wedding Show. Over 30 wedding professionals have signed up to participate in this year’s show which offers all the services you might need to plan your dream wedding in the Gunnison Valley. During the show you will have a chance to talk with wedding experts as you sample great food, listen to local musicians, and view the latest fashions. There will also be several raffle drawings throughout the show including a sleigh ride dinner for two and a romantic one-night stay for a lucky couple! Contact Scott at (970) 349-6438 for more information.

Next weekend, March 19th - 21st, over 100 free-heelers take to the slopes to compete in Crested Butte's Tele Extremes. The Telemark freeskiing event comes complete with welcome reception and awards party. The two-day big mountain event attracts the biggest names in the telemark industry and is unique to Crested Butte. Free telemark demos and specialty clinics also take place during this Telemark celebration. Call our events department to get the details on this impressive freeheeling event: 970-349-2217

Well, the skiing and riding is still so much fun here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort as we navigate the last month of the 2008-2009 winter season. We hope you join us here to inspire your own passion for adventure. This is your Snow Betty...I'll see you on the hill.
