It's another manic Monday in the Butte! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Monday, March 16, 2009. It's spring break in Crested Butte, and that means great skiing conditions, sunny, bluebird skies and happy faces on the mountain and in town. The past seven days have brought us 8 inches of new snow, boosting our season snowfall total to 268 inches. We now have 15 lifts shuttling you up the mountain, giving you access to a total of 104 trails, 71 of which have been groomed this past evening. The Superpipe in Paradise Bowl was also groomed overnight and the Canaan Terrain Park is maintained all day long by our talented Park Crew. Groomer's Choice this morning is Upper Park, but we guarantee you'll be happy anywhere you ski and ride today. The weather for this week is looking good. We'll have a high today of 43 degrees and have party cloudy skies. Be sure to wear sunblock and sunglasses or goggles today, as we're closer to the sun at over 9000 feet at the base area. This is especially true if you are planning on having lunch or a break at Paradise Warming House, Rustica, Butte 66, or 9380 Prime. The base area is full of retail stores that have everything you need to be prepared for a full day, (and a full week), on the mountain.
