Good morning Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Today is Tuesday, March 24th 2009, and I am thrilled to report that we have received 3 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours, making the two day total 4 inches and the season snowfall so far this year a whopping 272 inches. With all the sensational snow that has come down this year, the 55 inch base is skiing and riding wonderfully and with over 1150 skiable acres open, there's something out there for everyone! 92% of Crested Butte Mountain's phenomenal terrain is open, including 89% of beginner and intermediate terrain, 100% of advanced terrain and 92% of the infamous Extreme terrain! 11 out of 16 lifts are up and running keeping in mind the following lifts will be closed for the remainder of the 2009 season: Peachtree, the Mountain School Lift, Prospect and Teocali. Also, Third Bowl will also be closed for the rest of this season. There are still 99 exciting and unique trails available to ski or ride down, 72 of which have been groomed by the hard working groomers, who recommend International as their groomer's choice. It's clear the season isn't over as more snow is expected to fall through the week and temperatures will be reaching the low 30's. Grab those powder skis and board, and come enjoy this powderific day!
