It's another powderific day here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort on this Wednesday, the 25th of March 2009. I am happy to report 4 inches of new snow has fallen in the past 24 hours, making the 48 hour total, 7 inches! March is Colorado's snowiest month, so it's no surprise the snow is expected to continue falling for the rest of day and lasting through the weekend adding on to the 276 inches the mountain has already received this year. Temperatures are expected to reach the low 30's today and drop to the mid 20's by tomorrow. Thanks to the fantastic snow the mountain has received, 1155 skiable acres are open, all lying on a sturdy 65 inch base. Crested Butte Mountain Resort has any sort of terrain you may be looking for; and whether it's steeps, moguls runs or cruisers, 99 trails are open that can be accessed by the 11 lifts running; keeping in mind Peachtree, the Mountain School Lift, Prospect, Twister and Teocalli Lifts will be closed for the remainder of the season.
