Good morning and happy weekend, folks. This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Sunday, March 29, 2009. While we haven't had any new snow in the last 48 hours, we continue to have powder and packed powder conditions from the major snow event in just the last week. We received 24" of snow in the last 7 days, making choosing your run and your line pretty darn easy. With exactly one week left in the 2008-2009 winter season, we are skiing and riding on a base of 68" at the top and 50" at midway and 89% of our terrain is open. Today, we have 1155 total acres open, including 420 groomed acres; this translates to 99 open trails, 65 of which are groomed. The Superpipe will be open today and Groomer's Choice is the one and only Paradise Bowl.

There's snow in the forecast for the next four days, so keep your fingers crossed that we get more of that spring snow that we love. Temps should reach 37 today and there is a 70% chance of snow and 60% chance tomorrow. Keep your powder skis and boards handy, because this week is chalking up to be the best powder week of the entire season.

Now is the time to visit the base area retail stores for end of season sales galore...these include but are not limited to retail shops like Thin Air Sports, Crested Butte Ski & Snowboard, Elevation Station, Butte & Co., CB Sports, Colorado Boarder, Colorado Freeskier, Flatiron Sports and Peak Sports. You'll find outerwear and underwear, discounted seasonal clothing and stylish accessories, not to mention this year's top rated skis and snowboards. Ease those post-shopping hunger pains at any of the base area restaurants including 9380 Prime, Butte 66, Trackers, the Woodstone Deli, Avalanche Bar & Grill, The Bakery, Django's and Firehouse Grill. These restaurants offer a range of dining experiences that will suit your pocket and your belly. Get it while you can...only seven days left this season.

I'm keeping it short and sweet this morning...have a great day of skiing and riding. I'll see you on the hill.
