Good morning Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Today is Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 and it's a perfect day to hit the slopes as we have received 3 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours! The 21 inches of snow that has come down in the past week has made for a phenomenal 69 inch base! Snow is expected to fall throughout the day and last through the weekend, with temperatures reaching the low to mid 20's. This is spring skiing at it's best-and that's no April Fool's joke! 79% of Crested Butte Mountain is open and available, spread across 998 acres. 93 unique and exciting trails are open for your skiing and riding pleasure, 68 of which the groomers have created Colorado's best corduroy on, and they recommend Black Eagle as their groomer's choice. 10 lifts are up and running, leading you to any kind of terrain you're after. The following lifts are now closed for the remainder of the season: Peachtree, the Mountain School Lifts, Teocalli, Prospect and Gold Link. The Twister Lift is also currently closed but is scheduled to reopen for closing weekend. There really is no reason to miss out on some of the best spring skiing out there!
