Good morning ski bunnies and powder hounds! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Sunday, April 5, 2009. In true Crested Butte style, the groomers decided not to report to this little Snow Betty this morning, so I am guessing that stats just don't matter on the last day of the season. By the looks of things, it's going to be great conditions for the last day of the 2008-2009 ski season. We might see some snow showers today and it could be a tad bit chilly up there. But yesterday's skiing and riding was so much fun that I am personally forecasting a day full of ripping turns, hidden powder stashes and plenty of smiles. I can tell you that it snowed during apres ski yesterday after the lifts closed and then intermittently during the evening, but I think we'll be enjoying the coattails of the 8 inches of fresh snow we've gotten in the last 48 hours.

We are still rocking 998 acres of skiing and riding terrain, including 77% of our beginner and intermediate terrain, 100% of our advanced terrain and 86% of our unbeatable Extreme terrain. There are plenty of powder stashes out there for you locals and adventurous guests and we are also featuring 382 acres of groomed terrain. The following lifts are closed today: Peachtree, the Mountain School Lifts, Teocalli, Prospect and Gold Link. The Twister Lift is up and running for closing weekend, so be sure to make a couple of laps on the Twister Lift trails. They're good fun.

My advice to you is to hang up the phone or shut down your computer and go back to sleep for a bit...because today could be a long day at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. One filled with bottomless skiers and periods of wierdness. Be sure to pop some vitamins, have a hearty breakfast and then gather your friends and your costumes and head to the hill.

This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty signing off. Mind your p's and q's on the hill today, and then I'll see you in the backcountry. Thanks for a great season.
