Special Announcements
USSA Slopestyle Competition at the Superpipe today!

Announcements
Good morning ski bunnies and powder hounds! This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on this fine Sunday, February 7, 2010. I know, I know- it's Superbowl Sunday. But that does not mean that you don't have time to get up on the hill.

It was dumping yesterday and that means one thing- smooth skiing and riding! In the last 24 hours, we've had one inch of new snow, and 2" in the last 48 hours, making our slopes plush with powdery goodness. In just the last week, we've had a total of 6 inches so get out and get your face shot today- there should be plenty for everyone! Oh, and just in case you are counting, we've had a total of 148" of snow so far this season.

Here are some other numbers that might interest you- we have 14 lifts up and running today, shuttling you up to a total of 110 trails over 1100 acres. The groomers are all bragging about the new snowcat on the mountain, and have groomed a total of 77 trails on 380 acres. They have chosen Lower Treasury as Groomer's Choice today. Our natural snow depth ranges between 39 and 48 inches and the coverage out there is really substantial.

Be sure to stop by the Superpipe today to see wicked skiers and riders get speed and air for the USSA Slopestyle Competition. Cheer on your favorite local or see who's hot on this year's tour.

It looks like that weather pattern I mentioned yesterday is here to stay. Forecasters have predicted snow all the way through Thursday so it's time to get those powder legs ready. Temps will reach the high 20's today and remain there during the daytime for the rest of the week. If you believe in snow dancing, like so many of us do here in the Butte, I am sure the snow goddesses wouldn't mind a good laugh.

With 95% of our terrain open, including 100% beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain as well as 95% of our Extremes, we've got trails fit for every level skier and rider. If you're a little timid about hitting the slopes, or you would like to improve your overall technique, or learn to ski moguls or to safely conquer the extremes, I encourage you to take some lessons with our Ski & Ride School.Their expertise and local knowledge give you just the right tip and insight to take your skiing or boarding to the next level. For any age or ability, this is the place to get better and have fun at the same time. For more information, visit skicb.com or call our toll-free number, 800.444.9236

There will be plenty of places to watch the game at the base area- you can choose from Butte 66, the Avalanche Bar & Grill, 9380, the Woodstone Bar & Grill, the Firehouse and more! I hope you have a great Superbowl Sunday, and, hopefully, I'll see you on the hill.
