Good morning Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Today is Friday, April 2nd, 2010 and what a fabulous morning it is, as 5 inches of snow has fallen in the past 24 hours, making the 7 day total a killer 7 inches and the season snowfall so far a whopping 205 inches! And the best part is, it's not over yet! There is a 30% chance for snow today, rising to a 40% chance for tomorrow with temperatures remaining in the upper 20's for today. It's looking like this ski season is ending with a powderific bang!

Take your pick on any of the 11 lifts that are running today, leading to 1100 skiable acres, 350 of which have been groomed. 95% of the mountain is open, which includes 97% of beginner and intermediate terrain, 100% of advanced terrain and 98% of Crested Butte's infamous extreme terrain. From some of the best bumps and steeps in the business, to Colorado's best corduroy, Crested Butte Mountain Resort has something out there for everyone! With over 100 runs still open for your skiing and riding pleasure, the options are endless on this last Friday of the 2009-2010 ski season!

If the snow wasn't already a great way to end the ski season, here's another reason to come out and enjoy the final weekend of skiing or riding Crested Butte's legendary terrain! This Saturday, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is pleased to wrap up another successful winter ski season with festivities and the traditional crowd pleasing Pond Skimming! Registration for Pond Skimming is from 2:00 – 2:45pm at the base of the Red Lady Express Lift. Cost is $20 and gets you as many runs as you can hang for as the field gets increasingly narrowed. The Pond Skimming begins at 3:00pm in front of a team of judges and announcers looking first and foremost for competitors who clear the pond upright with bonus points given for style and costume. I'll see you there!

Don't forget, it's not too early to buy your 2010-2011 Crested Butte Mountain Resort Season Pass, and with the best prices of the season going on right now through April 4th, there's no better time to buy and save! New for 2010-2011, Adult Gold Passholders get 2 half-price Buddy Tickets and Adult Platinum Passholders get 4 half-price Buddy Tickets for use during the 2010-2011 ski season.
