Announcements
Well I can hardly believe it, but we are in the last weekend of our 2009 - 2010 ski season! And, it's been a great one! We had five inches of snowfall yesterday and I hope you had a chance to get up on the Hill and enjoy the fresh snow! Today is going to be another fantastic day on the Hill! With one new inch of fresh and the Superpipe freshly cut, the fun just keeps on coming! Once you are up on the Hill today, you'll be skiing and riding 1100 acres of terrain all spread out across a powder packed, 54 inch base. Our hard working grooming team has buffed out a bunch of fun trails, so be sure and take a run down Upper Keystone, because it is our groomer's choice for today! We've had a great season, with 206 inches of snow falling on our slopes, and the skiing and riding has been incredible! The weather experts are predicting a 60% chance of snow today, and temperatures are expected to reach the mid thirties. Today you'll have 11 lifts to transport you around the Mountain, so be sure and head on up while you still have two days left in the season!

There are always fun activities happening here in Crested Butte and this afternoon, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is pleased to wrap up another successful winter ski season with festivities and the traditional crowd pleasing Pond Skimming! Registration for Pond Skimming is from 2:00 – 2:45pm at the base of the Red Lady Express Lift. Cost is $20 and gets you as many runs as you can hang for as the field gets increasingly narrowed. The Pond Skimming begins at 3:00pm in front of a team of judges and announcers looking first and foremost for competitors who clear the pond upright, with bonus points given for style and costume. Catch the shenanigans from the deck at Butte 66 and stick around as local favorites Buntron Smith play one last time. I'll see you there!

Also, on closing day, swing by Uley’s and the Ice Bar and get your boogie on with Spring Creek Bluegrass Band. The tunes will begin at 11:30 and go through 2:30 so it will be a day full of dancing at the Ice Bar. It's going to be a blast, so don't miss out!

Thanks to all the Mountain employees, and especially my fellow snow reporters, for making this season truly memorable and fun! Have a great day and I know I'll see you on the slopes!
