Happy Saturday from your Snow Betty reporting on February 19th! More snow has fallen painting the mountain white for the weekend! We have received 1 new inches of snow in the last 24 hours, 7 inches in the last 48 hours and 10 in the last 7 days, totaling 254 inches of snowfall this winter season! More pow pow fun to be had. With 100% of our terrain open, 16 lifts running and 4 high speed quads you can get your laps in at top speeds. There is a ton of sweet powder stashes to be found but please play if safe and respect the boundaries Ski Patrol has lined out for us. Need to demo some new skis this weekend? The Crested Butte Rental and Demo Center is conveniently located base side in the Treasury Center just steps from the lifts. The newly remodeled shop makes the rental process smoother than ever and offers a collection of all the essentials including goggles, helmets, sunglasses, and sunscreen. They have over 20 different models of the this years' hottest skis and snowboards included in the top of the line demo fleet, the Elite Ski and Snowboard lines are sure to get you making the best turns of your life and an expanded selection of women specific skis and boards cater to the specific anatomical needs of a women's body which will ensure both comfort and high performance. For the convenience of our guests, Crested Butte Rental and Demo Center always offers free ski and snowboard storage daily at the Outpost. Visit the Equipment Details Page on skicb.com for descriptions and details on all the great gear offered this season! Crested Butte Mountain Resort and Mountain Sports International have teamed up to bring the US and World Freeskiing Tours to the birthplace of Big Mountain competitions. Crested Butte was the first in the US to launch an Extreme Skiing contest, this season marks twenty years. Competitors vie for the largest cash purse on the Freeskiing Circuit and sweet prizes from all the sponsors. These guys are quite amazing so stop by and check it out! All sorts of fun happening in Crested Butte today! Swing by Butte 66 for an apres ski drink and some music by Rock Bottom starting at 3:30. Butte 66 is located at the base area and is one of the most popular apres ski bar and eatery on the mountain. This fully updated facility is here to offer warm sammie melts, specialty topped hot dogs and homemade chili. And of course you can't pas up on one of their signature milkshakes! After your afternoon on the hill head into town for some more live music. Better Late then Never will be playing some good old rock and roll at the Talk of the Town at 7:30pm. Then Steamboat Spring's String Board Theory will jam out at the Eldo at 10:30pm with their unique fusion of funk, reggae and rock with an electronic feel. It's a great way to start off your three day weekend!
