What's all the commotion in town about? The Big Air!! Join Crested Butte's thrill-seekers in town tonight for The Big Air, an event hosted by the Colorado Freeskier and benefiting the Crested Butte Ski Club. In their own words, Colorado Freeskier describes the event as "A crazy, unique, crowd-pleasing event where Elk Avenue is shut down for several blocks to allow for a giant “kicker” to be built right in the middle of downtown. Skiers and snowboarders are towed behind snowmobiles to launch high into the air an perform their best tricks for the panel of judges and audience." This contest is uniquely Crested Butte and is a great way to spend a couple of hours in town this evening. Stop by the Colorado Freeskier if you have any questions regarding tonight's talented debauchery and be sure to buy raffle tickets. As Gabe Martin explains, "You really have to see it to believe it!"

The Banff Film Festival is also happening tonight at 7pm at The Center for the Arts. This Festival features the best collection of outdoor-insipred films in the workd. All benefits go towards Crested Butte Search and Rescue and tickets can be purchased at the Alpineer.

Good morning, good morning, good morning. This is Colorado's very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on Saturday, March 12 2011. Spring skiing is in full effect, complete with 78 inches of soft snow to ski and ride and Colorado bluebird skies to enjoy. Be sure to wear your sunblock today folks, because the conditions and weather are going to be perfect. We're talking high of 42 degrees today and guests can ride the their choice of 16 lifts to quickly get access to 1167 acres of infamous terrain. You'll be skiing and riding a total of 105 trails, including today's Groomer's Choice, International. We have 100% of our terrain open and three different terrain parks for those of you trying your hand at skiing and riding tricks.

Beginners should check out the Painter Boy and Keystone Terrain parks, located at their namesake. Once you've mastered a few moves then head on over to Cascade Park and the Superpipe, which is open and freshly cut today. The purpose of Crested Butte's terrain park program is to provide riders and skiers with a higher fun factor than they find on typical groomed or natural terrain. Learning is fun and finishing your day safely is fun, so we emphasize education, safety, and progression throughout all of our park offerings.

The Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum and Crested Butte Mountain Resort are teaming up this Sunday for the 2nd Annual Beach-ball Express and Skivenger Hunt. Teams are needed for this event, so please consider putting together a 4-person team to compete in the Skivenger Hunt. Follow clues around the mountain to answer questions about Crested Butte history. The winning team gets a pizza and beer party at the Firehouse Grill and costume prizes will be awarded to best dressed team, individual and kid! Look for Glo on the mountain with her silly beach ball hat, stop by the Museum, or stop a board member to buy raffle tickets. Tickets are $5 a piece or 6 for $25 and, when the balls roll on Sunday at 3 pm, you could win a $1000 cash prize, a trip for two to Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs or a 2011-2012 Nordic Pass. Support the Museum at 331 Elk in Tony's Conoco.

So much to do, so much Crested Butte. Have a great day and I'll see you on the hill.
