Well folks, the snow has arrived and it looks like it’s here to stay! So far Mother Nature has gifted us with one inch of new snow on this white Wednesday morning in November. The snow is going to keep coming down throughout the rest of the day, while temperatures will be in the mid 20’s. It’s true what they say, good things come to those who wait!

The snow is finally here, so what are you waiting for? Grab your snow gear, a warm hat and don’t forget your skis or board and hop on one of the four open chair lifts. If you take the free Mountain Express bus up to the mountain, you won’t have to spend a penny the entire day, because skiing and riding at Crested Butte is free and will continue that way until December 15th! With Paradise Bowl opening on tomorrow, skiing Crested Butte is getting better and better each day!

If you do manage to eat through your granola bars on the chairlift and your legs are starting to feel like jello from cruising down runs like the groomer's choice of Lower Ruby, take a break at Paradise Warming House for the chef’s fresh soup selection or the always favorite mouthwatering cheeseburger, talk about a cheeseburger in paradise! Stuck at the base of the mountain and can’t decide what to do next? Pause for a minute at Butte 66 where you can treat yourself to a pulled pork sandwich or a bowl of warm green chili while watching the skiers and riders come down the beautifully groomed Warming House Hill.

As you’re walking home at the end of the day and you notice your “waterproof” jacket might not have done its job while you carved turns through the 19 inch base, stop by one of the many retail shops located throughout the base of Crested Butte Mountain and pick up a new top of the line ski or snowboard jacket to better protect you in these fabulous winter conditions!
