Announcements
When it rains, it pours and in this case when it snows it dumps! Well folks, I'm happy to report Crested Butte Mountain Resort received another whopping 6 inches of snow overnight, making our grand total 70 inches of snowfall in the past seven days! What’s even better-there's still more to come! You can expect to see another 3-7 inches by the end of the day! Temperatures will be in the upper 20's and will most likely stay that way throughout the rest of the week. The holidays came early for us this year and how lucky we are!

Due to all the abundant snowfall, the Crested Butte Extreme Limits Terrain will open this Thursday! Along with 100 percent of our beginner and intermediate terrain, including Prospect, Gold Link and WestWall Lifts coming on line by the end of the week, the High Lift is slated to open Thursday, December 13! Get ready, bring your snorkel!

Ski or ride down the 58 inch base at the top and 46 inch base at midway in the packed powder conditions where you have 59 phenomenal trails to choose from. With 8 out of 16 lifts running including Silver Queen, Red Lady Express, Teocalli, East River, Paradise and both the Adult and Kid’s Magic Carpet, there's plenty of terrain to go around for all types and levels of skiers and riders. Enjoy the views from the newly opened Painter Boy Lift, where you have your choice of four new runs to shred down including Topsy, Little Lizzie, Splains Gulch, and Homeowner's Runs. Groomer's choice today is Crystal but no matter where your skiing or riding heart lies, there's enough of everything to go around.

There's no better time to learn to ski than right now! With Ski Free in full swing, you have nothing to lose! Want to learn to ride moguls or just touch up your skills? Take advantage of the great deals going on at CB Mountain Schools during this Test Ride time. CB Mountain Schools will be offering reduced rates on their Never-Ever lessons, skiing workshops, snowboard workshops, telemark workshops, ski racing workshops and Kids' ski and snowboard lessons. There will be plenty for everyone too…forecasters have declared a Winter Storm Warning in Crested Butte through 6 pm Wednesday. We’ve got nothing but snow in the forecast…you’ll see snow all day Tuesday and then high chances of more snow through the weekend. With temps ranging from 17 and 36 degrees, we’ve got great conditions for continued snow in the forecast. So, if traveling is in your forecast, check the road conditions before you leave home, carpool with your powder-hound friends and drive safe.
You can expect terrain openings throughout the weekend as Crested Butte’s top of the line Ski Patrol works to test the safety of the terrain and get the slopes open as quickly and safely as possible. Cheers to them! East River is slated to open on Saturday, so stay tuned to the snow report for updates. Call the toll free snow report at: 1-888-442-8883.
