Around 5:30 pm, expert skiers from the Crested Butte Ski School will begin at the top of International and parade down the mountain with real fire in their hands. The annual Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade is enjoyable for participants and viewers alike…sure to give you that “warm all over” feeling as you stand on any of the base area decks while enjoying après ski menu items and libations. Come celebrate pre-Christmas with your friends and loved ones at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. All 16 lifts are transporting folks up the hill to enjoy 101 open trails and 350 acres of “Colorado’s Best Corduroy.” Thanks to the Park and Grooming Crews, the infamous Superpipe opened yesterday. Take a lap down Ruby Chief to see a few local groms ripping it up in this massive and freshly cut half-pipe. Boss Ross tells me the DC Terrain Parks are on their way…so I suggest you gear up to witness or display new tricks of the skiing and snowboarding trades.
