Definition of powder? Crested Butte Mountain Resort! That's right folks, on this snowy, 22 degree Sunday morning, the 6th of January enjoy fantastic powder shots in the 23 inches of new snow we received in the past 24 hours! In the past 48 hours Crested Butte topped the charts at 29 inches of new snow, making the base a whopping 60 inches! With 100% of the mountain open, including 16 lifts, 106 trails, and 1177 acres (480 of which are groomed) there is no reason to not come out and play today! Can you say powder day???

Never skied powder before? No problem! The experts at the Crested Butte Mountain Schools would be more than happy to teach you everything they know, they love any excuse to come out and play!

After a long day of bending your knees in the deep powder, take a break at one of the fabulous apres-ski restaurants located at the base of the mountain, including Butte 66, Atmosphere Restaurant and The Avalanche Bar and Grill.

Snow is in the forecast through Wednesday and temperatures will stay in the lower 20's throughout the week! They say Colorado has great snow, but this is better than great-it's powderific! So no matter where you start your Sunday, make sure to end it at Crested Butte Mountain Resort!

While riding up one of the 16 lifts open, take in the breath taking views of the 1136 acres open, 474 of which are groomed, this mountain has to offer on this bluebird day, where temperatures should be in the mid 30's. In the mood to try something new? Drop in the DC Superpipe that the groomer's cut every night, making it perfect to satisfy your daredevil side. How high can you get?

So many options, so little time...when are you going to refuel? No problem, Crested Butte has plenty of great eateries around the mountain to grab and go, including the Woodstone Deli, located in the Grand Lodge, Paradise Warming House, Camp 4 Coffee located in Mountaineer Square, or grab a granola bar from most of the retail shops located throughout the base of the mountain. Want something a bit more substantial, but don't want to wait? Eat early or late to avoid the crowds and maximize your skiing and riding.

2008 is going to be great! Start things off on the right foot, by carving luscious turns down the 17 inches of snow Crested Butte received in the past 7 days. With packed powder conditions and all the terrain your legs can handle, Crested Butte is the right place to be!
