Powder runs, face shots, jumping from cliffs-yes folks, you can do all these things on this phenomenal powder day here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. With 17 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours, 40 inches in the past 48 hours and a sizzling 58 inches of yummy white powder in the past 7 days, Crested Butte is the place to be on this unbelievable powderlicious 7th day of January 2008.

With a smoking 71 inch base at the top and 58 inch base at midway, the hardworking and efficient groomers and ski patrol have made it possible to open 100% of the mountain, including 1177 skiable acres (480 of which are groomed). All you powder lovers out there, this is the day for you! Take a shot at Teocalli Bowl, where you'll find fresh turns at any time of the day. Still learning how to ski powder? No problem! Cruise down the many green and blue runs that have been groomed nightly giving you access to Colorado's best corduroy. In fact the groomer's recommend Lower Keystone today as their groomer's choice.

Today is the ideal day to test your limits. Not only will it be a comfortable 19 degree day, but no matter how you land, it's going to be soft all around! Enjoy this weather because the snow will continue to fall throughout the rest of the week, where temperatures will stay in the mid 20's.

With all the fluffy powder falling from the sky, make sure you have all the proper equipment you need. From goggles and helmets, to waterproof jackets and pants, the shops located at the base of the mountain have everything you need to fully outfit you and your loved ones, so everyone can enjoy the entire powder day to its fullest!

Be safe, have fun and frolic in mother nature's generous present here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort!
