Marvelous and spectacular. Spectacular and marvelous. The snow at Crested Butte Mountain Resort is simply unbelievable. Believe it or not, we’ve gotten 52 inches, that’s over four feet of snow, in the last seven days! We’ve added three new inches in the last 24 hours and a total of 20 inches in the last two days. Now, if that ain’t marvelous and spectacular, I don’t know what is!

How about our 71 inch base, 106 accessible trails and a total of 1177 acres open on the mountain? Put more simply, how about powder conditions up to your neck? It is most certainly a legendary powder day at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. That means the continuous opening of safe, extra powdery runs all day long- thanks to our impressive Ski Patrol team and their avalanche control work.

The buzz around town is that there will be more than a few openings today on the mountain- I am sure there’s a stash out there with your name on it!

You’ll stay the perfect temperature and temperament with partly sunny Colorado skies and a high of 28 degrees. We’ve got a Winter Storm Watch in effect through tomorrow evening, and then we might get a break from the snow on Thursday. Don’t get too comfortable though, because forecasters are calling for more of that good white stuff all weekend long. That’s right…you can expect snow on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ensure a great weekend for you and your riding buddies- get to the Butte!

It’s more than ideal skiing and riding at Crested Butte Mountain Resort- you have no excuse to miss out on the best powder conditions of the season. Today’s the day to lean back and let the powder take you down some of the best rides of your life.

Try out your powder skiing and riding skills at one of only 5 Colorado ski areas with a base over 70 inches. It’s just that good here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. This is your Snow Betty signing off…see you on the hill!
