Greetings and salutations! Although we didn’t get any new snow over night, the mountain is teeming with powder stashes. We’ve had a total of 61 inches of new snow in the last week, so riding and skiing is at its peak. With 490 groomed acres of “Colorado’s Best Corduroy,” and powder runs yet untouched, we’ve got a little challenge for every level of skier and rider. There could be more snow coming our way today, with a 50% chance of snow expected this afternoon. We’ll be warming up over the next couple of days, with higher temperatures and those classic bluebird Colorado skies expected on Monday and Tuesday. Hey locals...have you heard about the killer ski flick playing at the Majestic Theater this week? Steep is a documentary about the history of big mountain skiing. This major Hollywood release features footage from Crested Butte’s very own Matchstick Productions and was described by the New York Times as “An undeniably impressive visual spectacle that follows the sport of extreme skiing.” Steep will only be playing through this Thursday, January 17th so don’t miss your chance to see some remote and exhilarating footage and to give props to Matchstick Productions.
