16 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours...need I say more?! With a whopping 90 inch base and more snow coming down on this Monday morning, the 4th of February, it looks like Crested Butte Mountain Resort is going to be powderific for the next long time! 100% of the mountain will be open today, including 1177 acres (480 of which are groomed), 16 lifts, and 106 trails. Ski patrol will be working hard this morning to get the extreme terrain open and ready to shred as soon as possible, so keep you ears and eyes open! Face shots, powder turns, hucking galore, they can be more than just dreams today, they can become a reality. With so much fluffy powder, you can try anything today! Make sure, though that you're rightly equipped to do such things. Not only will you be needing waterproof gear, but a helmet can definitely come in handy too! All these things can be found at the many retail shops located at the base of the mountain, where you can find the latest ski and snowboard gear to outfit you and your whole family! While you're out shopping for some kick butt ski and snowboard gear, stop on by any of the Crested Butte Mountain Resort retail shops where you can pick up some Mardi Gras beads and become part of the Mardi Gras tradition here at Crested Butte! Mardi Gras is tomorrow, so get ready to experience a truly memorable day! More snow is in the forecast! Conditions don't get much better than this, so grab your gear and see what Paradise feels like!
