Special Announcements
After a full day of skiing or riding, come support Crested Butte Mountain Resort and the Red Lady Coalition, who have joined together to protect Mt. Emmons from a potential mining operation. Ed Robertson of the Barenaked Ladies and other special guests will take to the Butte 66 stage to help save Red Lady. These musicians are here as part of the production for the next Warren Miller Entertainment film. This après ski event will also double as the wrap up party for the Crested Butte film segment. Admission at Butte 66 is $10 and doors open at 4 pm. All proceeds from the door and the raffle will be donated to the Red Lady Coalition for their plight to stop the Lucky Jack Mine Project which is proposing a molybdenum mine on Mt. Emmons. Do your part, and party Crested Butte style while you’re at it!

Announcements
Well, happy weekend to you, everyone! This is Colorado’s very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort on this fine Saturday, February 09, 2008. One inch of snow fell overnight- adding a little more sparkle to all that powder you’ll find on the mountain. What powder you ask? How about the full foot of snow we’ve received in the past two days…or the 43 inches we’ve gotten in just the last week? Locals and guests alike agree…it’s the best snow conditions they’ve ever seen…and now you’ve got wicked snowboards and fat skis to prove it! There’s no denying almost 25 feet of snow so far this winter!

Looking to entertain the kids too? Well, the Tubing Hill at Crested Butte Mountain Resort is now open for daytime operations. From noon to five, Wednesday thru Sunday, and noon to 6:30, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, kids can enjoy the long ride down the tubing hill, which is located at the base area between the Silver Queen and Red Lady Express chairlifts. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in the Adventure Center in Mountaineer Square. Fulfill those childhood dreams with an afternoon of sledding with the family.

Just a reminder, the forecast today is calling for 30% chance of snow, so polish up your goggles and get some turns on our freshly groomed corduroy or enjoy the country’s most lift-accessible Extreme Terrain while you get some fresh tracks in knee-deep powder. Whatever you do, have a great weekend…I’ll see you on the hill!
