Announcements
Good morning snow hounds and ski bunnies! Don’t you just love President’s Day Weekend? With three full days of riding and skiing, if you aren’t here already, I suggest you pile your friends into the car and get to Crested Butte. We had no new snow over night, but just over a foot of snow in the last week. Today’s forecast is calling for periods of snow and temps in the mid to high 20s. And the good news doesn’t end there…it looks like we’ll see plenty of that Colorado sunshine on Monday and Tuesday, followed by high chances of snow beginning on Wednesday. It’s looking like another outstanding week at Crested Butte Mountain Resort as we’re shaping up for practically perfect conditions for the 17th Annual U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Championships.

That’s right, it’s that time, folks. The Extreme Freeskiing Championship, has now become part of the Mountain Sports International World Tour and will also be an official stop on the Subaru U.S. Freeskiing Series. CBMR's Extreme Limits terrain will be the chosen territory for the competition. With more than 25 feet of snow this season the freeskiers will have the best conditions in years. These world famous 583 acres of double-black diamond, ungroomed expert-only terrain are some of the steepest lift-served runs in North America. Events begin on Wednesday and continue through Saturday.

Don’t think this event is just for the competitors! Spectators are welcome at the event, and venues are accessible to all intermediate skiers and riders. Locations for the competitions are announced the day before the event, so be sure to check the white boards located at the lifts the morning of the event for location and directions. There is nothing like watching this competition at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Be sure to join the fun, Crested Butte style.

The conditions are top notch at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Come join us on the slopes for the best runs of your life, and fantastic views of the Gunnison Valley and Elk Mountain Range. I’ll see you on the hill.
