Announcements
Good morning Crested Butte skiers and riders! Today is Wednesday, February 20th, 2008 and it’s going to be another stellar hump day! With temperatures in the mid 30’s and partly cloudy skies and the chance for snow throughout the rest of the week, I’d say it’s shaping up to be yet another fantabulous week. Coast down 100% of the mountain which is open today, including 1177 ski able acres, 470 of which are groomed and 16 picturesque chair lifts that give you access to 106 of the most exciting trails you can get your skis or snowboard down!

Whether it is powder or groomers you’re after, Crested Butte has it all and on an unbelievable 85 inch base. Mother Nature has been so kind to us this year, giving us over 300 inches of snow already, making our days more powderiffic as the season continues! If it’s the groomers you’re digging, you’re in luck. The amazing groomers at Crested Butte make sure that every green and blue run is groomed nightly for your cruising delight! They don’t call us Colorado’s best corduroy for nothing!

Don’t forget, it’s the 17th Annual U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Championship here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Starting today, you are able to see some of the most extreme skiers out there! Males and females, young and masters are going to be out in the extreme terrain hucking their stuff, showing us what having guts really means! The first event begins today with the Junior Big Mountain Qualifiers and ends on Saturday, February 23rd with the Adult Big Mountain Finals. Think this event is only for competitors? Think again! If you can ski a blue and hike a little, come join the spectators as they watch from the bottom of the venue which will be posted on white boards each day.

With perfect weather, great conditions and fantastic terrain, there’s really no reason to miss out on skiing or riding Crested Butte Mountain Resort!
