Good morning all you skiers and riders out there! It's another BEAUTIFUL day here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Although we received no new snow in the last 24 hours, snow is in the forecast for the next three days! So if it's powder you're looking to ski or ride, this could be your lucky weekend!
Today's winds will be calm and out of the west and temperatures should reach the lower thirties. We currently have an amazing 85 inch base. Sixteen of sixteen lifts are running giving you access to 106 trails of beautiful terrain of all skill levels. If it's groomers you prefer today, we've got 490 acres of "Colorado's Best Corduroy" ready for you to come and enjoy! Don't forget to take a few runs on Jokerville because it is our groomer's choice for today!
The big news on the Mountain today is the 17th Annual U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Championships happening right here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Don't miss out on this amazing event where you will be able to see some of the most extreme skiers out there! The first event began yesterday with the Junior Big Mountain Qualifiers and will end on Saturday, February 23rd with the Adult Big Mountain Finals. Don’t think this event is just for the competitors either! Spectators are welcome at the event, and venues are accessible to all intermediate skiers and riders. Locations for the competitions are announced the day before the event, so be sure to check the white boards located at the lifts the morning of the event for location and directions. This event is sure to get your heart racing as you watch the competitors huck their stuff!
