Announcements
Good morning all you skiers and riders! The flakes are flying this morning and it's looking like another Powder morning here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort! A chance of snow is predicted throughout the day and temperatures should reach the low thirties. It looks like the snowfall could last throughout the weekend so get ready all you powder lovers, because it's shaping up to be a great one!

It's currently 22 degrees here and the snow is falling as the day breaks. We have a natural snow depth of 85 inches and the surface conditions on the Mountain today will be powder! All lifts are running and 100 percent of the terrain is open. Four hundred and seventy acres have been groomed overnight and our groomers choice for today is International.

Have you been up to see the 17th Annual US Extreme Freeskiing Championships yet? Don't miss out on this amazing event happening this weekend! Come up and see some of the most extreme skiers out there! And don't think this event is only for competitors? If you can ski a blue run and hike a little, then you can join in the fun and watch from the bottom of the venue which will be posted on white boards each day! Today's venue for the extremes will be Spellbound Lookout, East LA Highlife.

Also happening today, is the Dan Prater Memorial Cup. This three-event, five-race series for J-4 racers is a qualifier for the Alpine J4 Junior Olympics of the Central/Rocky Mountain Division. Athletes ages 11-12 compete for the honor of qualifying for the Junior Olympics. Please call the Crested Butte Ski and Snowboard Club at (970) 349-2996 if you need more information about this wonderful event!

It's going to be a great day to come up and see some of the top atheletes out there, showing us what they've got! You may be inspired to improve your own skills on the slopes! Well call Up CB Mountain Schools this morning and sign yourself up for a ski or snowboard lesson. Let their talented and professional instructors teach you how to properly carve it up on this beautiful snowy morning! They'll teach you all you need to know to navigate your way down the powdery slopes with style. CB Mountain Schools can be reached at 970 349-2252.

Don't miss out on all the fun happening today! Have a wonderful day and we'll see you on the slopes
