Greetings everyone! We’ve had a trace of snow overnight- and we are still reveling in the 15” of snow we’ve received in the last two days. On top of a strong 89” base and 344” of total snowfall this season, skiers and riders are having the season of their lives. Now that you have a chance to put down that shovel, come enjoy some of the best Extreme terrain in the country- there are plenty of powder stashes all over the mountain. Groomer’s choice today is Jokerville, one of my favorite front-side runs. Whatever terrain you cover today, I am sure you won’t be disappointed with the exceptional conditions we have at Crested Butte Mountain Resort this winter. In fact, some of you might be having so many great powder days that you might need to update some of your equipment and gear. The base area has a plethora of shopping choices if you are in the market for new skis, snowboards, boots, and the ever-trendy ski and snowboard apparel. And from walking around the base area the last couple of days, I am pleased to report that SALE signs are everywhere. For the best deals in town and the latest and greatest gear, check out The Elevation Station, The Outpost at Mountaineer Square, Butte & Company, Flatiron Sports, Christy’s, Peak Sports, One Track Mind, The Colorado Boarder, and The Colorado Freeskier. The forecast today is calling for highs in the low 30’s and a 30% chance of snow. Right now, we’ve got partly sunny skies and an 8 mph wind out of the North. Today might be the perfect day to get your annual, or inaugural, family photo at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Keep your eye out for the friendly Photo Case photographers who are available to take snapshots all over the mountain with the most pristine backdrops. Capture a little bit of Crested Butte with a quality photograph from the Photo Case- and be sure to visit their office in the Treasury Center.
