G’day everyone! This is Colorado’s very own Snow Betty with Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s snow report for Wednesday, February 27, 2008. We’re still making great turns on the most recent of our snow storms; 21 inches in just the past week makes for easy skiing and riding. And with our total snowfall this season at over 28 feet so far, we’ve got plenty of terrain and powder stashes in every direction! It looks like we’ll have one of those infamous Colorado bluebird skies today, and for the next few days here in Crested Butte! Temperatures will be in the high 30’s, and if you were anywhere near the Butte yesterday, you’ll understand that these warmer temps make for deck time. If I were you, today I’d have a long lunch on the deck of Butte 66 while feasting on their renowned pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries and one-of-a-kind fried pickles. SKI Magazine wrote that Butte 66 has “One of the nation’s best happy hours;” if you don’t make it there for lunch, the sun will still be glorious for happy hour, so definitely swing by after the lifts close.
