Good morning Crested Butte skiers and riders! Today is Friday, February 29th, 2008. Happy Leap Day! This is a Snow Betty Wanta-be and it’s going to be beautiful start to a terrific weekend! With temperatures in the mid 40’s and increbible Colorado bluebird skies, it's going to be the start to a perfect weekend here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Ski and ride 100% of the mountain, including 1177 skiable acres, 470 of which are groomed and 16 picturesque chair lifts that give you access to 106 of the most exciting trails you can get your skis or snowboard down! Start your morning off with a cruise down Crested Butte's longeset run from the top of Paradise to the bottom of East River. Our 85 inch base will delight you turn after turn. Play on the groomers of East River or test your skills on the bumps of Resurrection. After a great morning in East River, follow the sun to Paradise! The trails at Paradise are for all levels, you can cruise Colorado's Best Corduroy or test your skills in our world famous Extreme Limits Terrain! This year's abundant snowfall--344 inches or more than 28 feet has blessed us outstanding conditions everywhere on the mountain. If it's riding the superpipe that you are after, it's your lucky day,the DC Superpipe was freshly cut this morning. While you’re here, why not take a break and see what a cheeseburger in paradise tastes like? With so many options around the mountain to satisfy your taste buds, you probably won’t even need to wait in line. If you’re looking for a quickie, stop on by Paradise Warming House, which has all the essential skier-friendly foods including cheeseburgers, soups and delicious subs and salads. If you are looking to take a little longer break, head on down to the base area where you can enjoy spectacular views from the deck of Butte 66 while taking down a BBQ style lunch or treat yourself to a little fancier lunch at the Atmosphere Restaurant located in the Elevation Hotel. No matter what your stomach is saying, all your possible cravings will be fulfilled. Forget your lip balm or suncreen? Need a new hat? The General Store, located in the upper level of the Treasury Center, is the place to find all those last minute items you may have forgotten. Or if you are looking for that perfect gift, the General Store has local and unique gift items for every budget!
