Announcements
Good morning all you skiers and riders out there! It's a beautiful Saturday morning, here at crested Butte Mountain Resort! For the first day of March we are reporting no new snowfall in the last 24 hours, but not to worry because the forecast is calling for snow showers beginning tonight and continuing through tomorrow. Today's weather will be mostly sunny with high reaching between 45 to 55 degrees. Winds will pick up this afternoon out of the southwest at 10 to 15 mph and the conditions on the Mountain today will be packed powder.

We currently have a 89 inch base and a total of 1177 acres open! Thanks to our hard working grooming teams, 480 glorious acres of our total open terrain has been meticulously groomed for your skiing and riding pleasure! So come on up and enjoy "Colorado's Best Corduroy!" Make sure to take a run down Jokerville because it is our groomer's choice for today!

Good news! The DC Slopestyle Competition is set for Sunday, March 2, 2008! This is the third event in a five-part series! Come up and show us what you've got in the DC Terrain Park located under the Paradise Chair Lift. Competitors will vie for great prizes and their chance at 15 minutes of snow fame! Five competitive divisions include ages 10 and under, 11-14, 15-17, 18 and over, and an Open Class for the more highly competitive folks. Skiers and snowboarders, men and women, are all judged separately. The cost to compete is $22 plus a $5 bib deposit. Registration will be held in the Capital Room at the Elevation Hotel, from 8:00am to 9:30 am. For more information contact Keitha at 970 349 2217 or e-mail events@cbmr.com.

Regardless of your level of skiing, it can’t hurt to get some great advice from the experts. Take advantage of the fantastically staffed Crested Butte Mountain Schools where the pros who can teach just about anything from steep groomers to fast-paced moguls- they can even teach you how to huck off jumps and bumps!

After a fun filled day of shredding it up on the hill, don't miss out on a truly unique dining experience where half the fun is getting there. Ride in an open sleigh pulled by a snowcat to the backside of the mountain, and there you will dine at the Rustica Ristorante in Paradise Warming House. Enjoy a tantalizing four-course dinner featuring a full bar and handpicked wine list to complement the evening. Then bundle up afterwards to take the sleigh back to the base area. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 970 349 2211.

With great weather and fantastic snow conditions what better place to be today (and throughout this glorious weekend) than Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Get up here! We will see you on the mountain!
