Announcements
Good morning snow bunnies and ski hounds. We’ve received an inch of snow over the last 24 hours; not much to call home about if we hadn’t already received a total of 345 inches of snow this season. With an 83 inch base and snow in the forecast for today, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is exactly what the doctor ordered to shake off the winter blahs. Score some wicked groomer runs on 470 acres of our infamous “Colorado’s Best Corduroy,” or head out to the Extremes to challenge your nerves, legs and lungs.

Has it been a while since you took a lesson? It might be just the right time for you to progress to the next level of skiing or snowboarding, and the skilled instructors at Crested Butte Mountain Schools can take you there. With packages for new, intermediate, advanced, and families of skiers and riders, everyone can return from their vacation a better skier or snowboarder. Call Crested Butte Mountain Schools for details on lesson packages, schedules and learning opportunities at 1-800-444-9236.

If you’re in town for the upcoming weekend, or need a weekend getaway, Crested Butte is the place to be this Saturday, March 8. This Saturday is none other than the infamous Red Lady Ball; established by the High Country Citizens’ Alliance, the annual fundraiser is the most famous effort to raise awareness and generate funds to help protect the land, water, and wildlife of the Gunnison Valley, including the beloved Red Lady. This year, the High Country Citizens’ Alliance will have Great American Taxi serenade the night away, and, as usual, throughout the evening, they’ll hold a raffle of prizes from local businesses in the valley. Just before midnight, the HCCA will crown the 2008 Red Lady! The party starts at 8 pm and tickets, which include an annual membership, are $25. Always a great time, and the most important issue pressing the Gunnison Valley, Crested Butte Mountain Resort encourages you to attend the 2008 Red Lady Ball.

It’s hump day for many people all over the world; but at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, it’s just another day in paradise. Have a good one everyone; I’ll see you on the hill.
