Good morning skiers and riders! Don’t forget that we sprang forward today…spring is near, but not quite here. We’re entering the second half of the weekend in the best possible way- with fresh snow on the ground! We’ve got a dusting to an inch of the white stuff coating our slopes this morning, with today’s forecast calling for 30% chance of snow and temps in the 30’s. Not only that, but it looks like this week will be a classic, beautiful Colorado week in March with moderate temps and bluebird skies. Today we’ll be skiing and riding 106 trails with 16 lifts running. From the Peak to Third Bowl, all 1177 acres of terrain awaits you. So what’ll it be? Gentle beginner terrain…wide open intermediate cruisers…a run through the bumps on Resurrection…or maybe you’d rather test yourself in the best Extreme terrain in the country. No matter what you choose, you can always rely on great conditions, thanks to the superb grooming team of Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Looking for something fun to do with the family tonight after the lifts stop running? Be sure to learn about the History of Crested Butte Mountain Resort at 6 pm in the Mountaineer Square Conference Center. Dick Eflin is Crested Butte Ski Area’s founder, and will be presenting the original promotional movie made in 1963 as well as his own personally narrated slide show. Dick always has great stories to share and is happy to answer questions at the end of the show. Don’t miss this opportunity to see and hear how the ski area at Crested Butte came to be. Well, hopefully there won’t be too much recovering for everyone today- with all the great events that happened this weekend, you just might want to come up to the mountain and shake off those Sunday blahs before Monday rolls around.
