Announcements
Powder day, powder day! It’s official- 7 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours, and the weather gods are forecasting more snow throughout the entire weekend! This is Colorado’s very own Snow Betty with the snow report for Crested Butte Mountain Resort, on the working man’s holiday, Friday, March 14, 2008. You’ve read me right. We’ve had 7 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours, 9 inches in the last 48 hours and a sweet little storm in the last week that has given us just under a foot of new snow. It’s one of those late season days that you don’t really think twice about what you’ll be doing. The powder awaits you this morning, and with an 86” base underfoot, skiing and riding is at its best.

A late season day at Crested Butte Mountain Resort means that temps will be perfect- hovering in the low 30’s with snow showers all day long, freshening up terrain in between bouts of Colorado sunshine. You’ll take breaks on the decks of Paradise Warming House, the Ice Bar, Butte 66, Atmosphere Restaurant and the Brown Lab Pub- but only short ones. Shortly after you enjoy your choice of libation, whether it be a spicy Bloody Mary, hot chocolate, energy drink, water or PBR, your skis or snowboard will call you back to the lift. There will surely be some beautiful skiing and riding today, so get off your bums and get on the lifts.

There’s not much else to report on powder days at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Hop on the free bus, or pile four or more into the car for free parking. Pick up your favorite coffee drink at Camp 4 Coffee and get in line with the best of the best.

I have a feeling it's going to be a great weekend at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. If you're not here already, throw planning out the window and do whatever you have to do to get here. This is Colorado’s very own Snow Betty signing off- I will most definitely see you on the hill today!
