Powder,powder, all around, powder, powder on the ground! That’s right, folks, no matter where you decide to point your skis or snowboard down on this Tuesday, the 18th of March, you’re sure to find plenty of deep, rich powder to cruise down. This year has brought so much amazing snow to Crested Butte including the 2 inches of powder that fell in the past 24 hours and 20 inches in the past 7 days. The mountain has received over 30 feet of snow and we're only in March!! Expect to see temperatures reaching the mid 30’s today, while the skies should be partly sunny-a perfect spring day! With an outstanding 89 inch base and 1177 ski able acres giving you access to 15 open chair lifts and 106 trails, no matter where you go, you’re sure to have an unforgettable day! Groomers and powder runs, there’s something out there for everyone! Spring is in the air and so are some unbelievable deals we have going here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. For example there is the Half Price Lift Ticket deal where all you need to do is present your lift ticket from any other Colorado resort and receive 50% off your ticket to the best skiing on Earth here at Crested Butte! Be sure to give those legs a break today and do it at anyone of the delicious lunch options available both on and off the mountain. Located at the base area are inside and outside dining options located at The Atmosphere Restaurant and Butte 66, while Trackers at Mountaineer Square, Wood Stone Deli and Substation 2 have comfortable indoor seating that goes along perfectly with their wide range of food options. If you're still shredding gnar on the mountain, but need a quick break, bite or both, Paradise Warming House is the perfect place to stop to get a quick lunch, while giving your body a rest. If you're looking to take a longer break, Rustica Restaurant, located next to Paradise Warming House, is the ideal place for you to take your jacket off, get a tasty cocktail and be served some amazing dishes. Both on and off the mountain, there are plenty of restaurants to fufill your every craving. But remember to avoid the crowds, eat early or eatlate and ski during that noon hour! Get ready to watch some serious knee dropping as the 12th Annual US Extreme Telemark Freeskiing kicks off on Thursday, March 20th. Some of the most extreme and talented telemark athletes will be out their hucking their stuff without having their heals strapped in…incredible isn’t it? Venues will be posted on the whiteboards located throughout the mountain. Top the weekend off with the Annual Al Johnson Memorial Uphill/Downhill Telemark Race on Sunday, where racers will dress up and prove that skiing the North Face is much more fun in costume!
