The clouds roll in at Crested Butte Mountain Resort in front of a system looking to lay another possible 8 inches on our slopes by Thursday night! This is Powder Hound barking out some great news to help you through this hump day, Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Get your legs shaking and howl at the snow gods to add a little love to the 6 inches we saw in the last 7 days as well as boost our season total, now at 145.5 inches. Currently, a base of 48 inches is spread across 958 acres of amazing terrain, 300 of which have been groomed in the best corduroy in Colorado! There are 14 lifts spinning their wheels to serve up 93 trails for your riding enjoyment. Glide your way down 100% of the beginner, intermediate, and advance terrain available or take it to the next level on 76% of the extreme terrain offered. Point the tips toward Houston, as the Groomers have given word that it is the choice run today! Looking to rent or demo equipment for your next back-country or on-mountain uphill excursion? Then visit the Scarpa/Ski-Trab Uphill Demo Center located in the Elevation Hotel & Spa. The Demo Center is open daily from 9am – 6pm and will open early on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 6am. If you are anything like my little pup, when the lifts are running it is precious ski time! But, we need to fuel the body so we can keep going. That is when we head over to Spellbound Pizza located in the Treasury Building behind Butte 66. There we can grab a bite super-fast and get back to skiing in no time at all! We will see you all on the hill!
