The snow keeps falling here at Crested Butte Mountain Resort! This is Powder Hound with a report today, Thursday, December 5, 2013, that will make you hop out of bed, grab your gear, and race for the hill. Over night, we saw a fresh 5 inches of pow bringing our total to 17 inches in the last 48 hours! The 6 feet of snow that has graced our mountain so far this season has allowed for an abundance of powder turns on the 254 acres currently open. These conditions are expected to continue throughout the week as another system moves in to add even more cush to our 42 inch base and making an all time stellar opening day for the Silver Queen which is scheduled to spark to life tomorrow! Also, be on the look out for East River to spin it’s wheels starting Saturday. Currently, we have 4 lifts cranked up serving 42 trails, 30 of which are groomed to Colorado’s Best Corduroy.
